Sapotaweyak Cree Nation Water Treatment Plan
ODK Engineering provided engineering services for the planning, designing and construction of a Water Treatment Plant . The project included reviewing population projections and updating the community development plan before moving forward with detailed design, as well as testing the proposed treatment technology. The existing reservoir and water treatment plant were inspected and cleaned to assess their condition and determine whether they could be repurposed, while a suitable site was confirmed for the new water treatment plant.
The work included the design and construction of a new membrane-based water treatment plant and an 855 m³ treated water reservoir, along with decommissioning or repurposing of the existing plant and ongoing monitoring of water quality. The project also included designing and constructing a new raw water intake in Dawson Bay, supported by bathymetric surveys, historical aerial photo reviews, flood-level assessments, and water quality testing to determine the appropriate treatment requirements.
